So I was bored and took a look at general, and I found someone mocking the 10 Commandments. You can find this post here. An outspoken atheist on the forums, I read about 3-4 of the commandments, and didn't bother to read the rest. It was obvious he just wanted to mock the Word, and of course as a natural man, had no spiritual discernment, had no wisdom, and just wanted to blaspheme our heavenly Father. There are many atheists like this(not all obviously), and the reason they need to be so loud about their denial of God, is because they fight within themselves, and the truth God has placed in every man, that there is God, and he demands a law (I can put up verses backing this, particularly in Romans, but I'm too lazy to look it up, I can put them up if anyone asks). Either way God is good!

The 10 Commandments was given as not only a law, but as a mirror that reflects to us how God sees man. There is no way anyone can or will ever fulfill the whole of the law. There was only one, the man-Christ Jesus. The punishment was shown as how serious a breaking of these commandments was, also many of the rules that Yahweh gave to the Jews were so that civilization could evolve into what it was today. I don't think you can deny the fact that 'religion' (in general) and Christianity (specifically, including the Pentateuch and 'old' law) helped bring along and establish civilization as we know it today.

In regards to your atheism, even to those who aren't 'believers' it is obvious you are fighting hard and trying to prove to NT and the world you don't believe in God, and we get it. The Bible puts it in man's heart that there is a God, and I find it no surprise you have to fight so hard, and shout so loud, trying to disprove the reality. Someone once jokingly said "God doesn't believe in atheists." Just remember when it is all said and done, we all die, and the words of God you try so hard to mock, and make fun of, will also be the law that will judge you.

If the punishment that God gave to men to execute on these 10 commandments is harsh, imagine the punishment and wrath the Creator of these commandments will deliver. The writer of Hebrews said "And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment."

If you feel any fear or conviction towards this, your only hope is Jesus Christ. No fulfilling of the law (being a good person) or going to church ("Churchianity") will ever save you or can ever save you. Paul wrote to the Ephesians, "By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast." "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."

And to everyone else repent, or like this man you shall all likewise perish.
